In recent months I've been swamped with teaching engagements both here at our church and around the Boston area. The teaching has ranged from quiet times to sexual purity to leadership development. The other day I reflected back on all my prep and realized that a huge percentage of my resources were connected in some way to materials suggested or given in my Intersect Emerge Cohort. Learning in Ministry. Learning in Community.
We believe emerging leaders ministering in a rapidly-changing world are seeking a fresh approach to ministry preparation. Training and skill development are needed to help these leaders think theologically and minister effectively. We’re convinced learning happens best in community and that theology, spiritual formation, and ministry skills must all be nurtured in the leader. We’re responding to the need by coaching emerging leaders toward thoughtful and effective leadership through training, consulting, and by providing materials they can use in their contexts. - We serve existing learning communities by providing customized resources for church teams, denominational and missions leaders, and youth ministry networks.
- We create learning communities through events like EMERGE. (link to EMERGE) We invite leaders to study the Bible, wrestle with ministry issues, and grow in relationship with God and each other.
