Steve and Dave, like everyone, live in between the biblical text and the practice of the church. This is normal. However, they stretch out their arms as they simultaneously grasp both the Bible and the Church in our changing world and pull them together in a manner that challenges practitioners who have nothing to say, equips thinkers trying to give expression to their thoughts, and encourages all of us who pray, "Thy Kingdom come..." This is remarkable, and I consider Steve and Dave remarkable friends whose lives and teaching challenge, equip, and encourage me. - Sean Larsen, Yale Divinity School Grad, Duke Doctoral Student more...

Further Explanation of Our Values
At the heart of Intersect are our values - the convictions that drive our purpose and where we believe that we will intersect with others. As we intersect with individuals and organizations on one or more of our values, we believe that the expression of this will be tangible dialogue and efforts that honor God, support the church, and redeem the world. We value: Local Church Community - We intersect with local churches and their leaders.
- We believe the whole church community is the primary vehicle by which the Gospel is expressed and discipleship takes place. We serve the Church, God’s ordained vehicle for representing Himself and His Gospel, through equipping and inspiring church leaders who shepherd the church.
Emerging Influencers - We intersect emerging leaders with proven leaders to learn from one another.
- We believe the Church must empower and encourage the emerging leader. Those young in leadership need to discover God’s leading through the use of their gifts. Those more mature in leadership need to continue to discover God’s leading, encouraging those they shepherd, the emerging leaders, to receive the baton.
Countercultural Transformation - We intersect the text with culture, exegeting both God’s Word and our world.
- We believe the Church is to be a presence in this world that relevantly challenges the prevailing worldview and lifestyle.
Missional Expansion - We intersect our humanity with the resurrection power of Christ.
- We believe God invites his people to join in the supernatural expansion of his mission that embraces the nations. We call leaders to intentional discipleship that, by God’s grace, produces growing disciples who express their gifts for the glory of God and the edification of the church. We call churches to reproduce other churches.
Synergistic Partnerships - We intersect with other ministries and leaders who share our vision and values.
- We believe God’s mission is bigger than any one organization. We carefully seek partnering supporters, leaders, and ministries so that together, we can better serve the global Church.
Ongoing Reformation… - That Centers on a Theological Narrative and Christological Hermeneutic.
- We intersect our lives and ministries with the Redemptive Story of God.
- We believe Christ embodies the full story of God where he is the Hero. We call leaders to embrace theological, personal, and missional convictions based on the whole of Scripture and ultimately on the life, heartbeat, and priorities of Jesus, having a direct effect on how leaders think, live, and lead.
- That Champions Global Responsibility.
- We intersect with local bodies in a global context.
- We believe the church has a local presence that makes a global impact. We seek to remind local churches that they are part of the church universal and call them to share in a vision greater than themselves.
- We recognize that the Church expresses the Gospel in word and deed communicating God’s message through humanitarian relief.
- That Strives for Personal Formation and Reformation.
- We intersect with leaders’ personal lives.
- We believe that theological leadership mandates dialogue and reflection, which continually shapes how one lives and leads. We foster formation and reformation in the lives of the leaders we serve through thinking, writing, communicating, training, and dialogue.
