One-day, interactive courses for local ministry staff and volunteers.

EXPLORE TRAINING

EXPLORE is for the ministry leader (paid or volunteer) who is seeking to strengthen their leadership skills in order to provide more direction and purpose to those they lead and serve. Face-to-face training with the emerging leader in mind. Courses incorporate relevant teaching, practical evaluation of personal ministry, and take-home materials to teach and implement the course in your context. Each course will correspond with the tracks offered at EXTEND weekends. This provides a way for leaders who go through EXPLORE courses, to have a platform to train their students with similar values. EXPLORE training is a series of leadership modules that focus on the theological, personal, missional, and contextual issues of life and ministry. EXPLORE is live training sponsored by local ministries for their staff, volunteers and partnerships.

01 EXPLORE: Shepherd through Following

Our own shepherding and leading is done best through our growing theological understanding of God and God’s story.

In this course, we explore how our lives and ministries intersect with God’s redemptive plan in history. We’ll look at how this provides perspective for our everyday leadership and consider how to help others live missionally and purposefully.

02 EXPLORE: Disciple through Formation

Discipleship and formation happen through spiritual disciplines connected with community.

In this course, we explore how to disciple others through indivdual and corporate sign posts. We will attempt together, to think through what discipleship looks like by synthesizing biblical theology, the uniqueness of each individual, and the role of the church.

03 EXPLORE: Express through Community

We explore the essence of community and what that means for how we lead.

In this course, we explore what it means for the church to live a communal apologetic. The life of the believer cannot be individualistic and isolated, but can be lived in community, a community that is lived in the public arena.

04 EXPLORE: Live through Calling

We explore God’s calling in our own pursuit and how we shepherd others toward their calling.

In this course, we explore our callings and how that factors into how we live missionally. We will build upon the role of community in our callings; and we will spend time in self-assessment for the benefit of our own lives and for those we shepherd.

EXPLORE ONE-DAY SCHEDULE

While each course is a stand-alone course, we recommended you take the courses in sequence for maximum benefit.

A typical training day will involve times for presentation, dialogue, reflection, and next steps. Each module will have three 90 minute segments synthesizing:

09:00-10:30 Overview of material (Explanation and Discussion)

11:00-12:30 Case Studies and/or Real-life scenarios (Evaluation and Dialogue)

12:30-1:30 Lunch and Connecting

01:30-3:00 Next Steps (Implementation)
