During the past six years I have come to value my relationship with Dave Livermore and have been continually impressed with his heart for the globe and his genuine desire to both strengthen ministry internationally and allow global developments to impact ministry in North America. Over the past few years I have come to love and respect Steve Argue for his theological and conceptual value in terms of thinking and living in contemporary society. Intersect promised to impact ministry in North America and around the globe in ways that will result in change within individuals, the local church and parachurch organisations. As an organisation working throughout Africa, we eagerly anticipate ways in which we can work together to both learn and contribute to the development of the movement.

EMERGE Learning Groups

Many leaders are looking for something beyond the one-day seminar and are seeking training, interaction, and reflection with a small group of leaders.  Intersect offers EMERGE for leaders desiring to learn in community.

EMERGE Cohorts (Cohort: A band of people with a common interest and a shared goal)

Current EMERGE Cohorts:

  • EMERGE.GRACE CHAPEL - August 20-22, 2007; January 7-9, 2008; May 12-14 2008.  This Cohort is a follow-up to the introductory gathering at Grace Chapel (Lexington, MA) in May, 2007.  If you were a part of that gathering and would like to continue to meet with the EMERGE cohort, or would like to join us for the next three gatherings, download and complete our application and return it to Brian Dietz .  Also, e-mail Brian if you have any questions about being a part of this new Cohort.

EMERGE Description

EMERGE Cohorts a gathering of emerging leaders (typically around 12) who interact with Intersect’s EXPLORE material at a deeper level.  Gatherings are quarterly and are spread over the course of a year.

EMERGE members interact with the presented material, discussing how to teach the material in their own context, and then take the material home to train people in their ministries. Feedback and further interaction is encouraged through a private blog and further follow-up discussion at following EMERGE gatherings

Intersect’s goal is to create a community that allows for ongoing, mutual learning, deeper relationship, and personal development over an extended time.

EMERGE will be led by Dave and/or Steve and a select number of veteran leaders who will make themselves available for ongoing discussion and consulting.

EMERGE Involvement

EMERGE serves to gather emerging leaders from a variety of ministry backgrounds. In most cases, participants are expected to have completed a bachelors degree and must be currently engaged in ministry.

EMERGE puts the value of community at the center of ongoing personal and ministry development. Cohort participants must be referred and commissioned by their local church.

EMERGE is an interdependent learning community where a limited number of emerging leaders experience the EXPLORE modules together in 4 meeting times spread out over a year (Each meeting time is 3 days (1 p.m. on the 1st day through 11:30 a.m. on the 3rd day).

EMERGE is a year investment where participants will engage one another at theological, personal, and missional levels. In addition to the quarterly gatherings, participants will be expected to read additional literature, write papers and to engage in dialogue through blogging and email.
