Steve Argue and Dave Livermore minister in a way that has been profoundly encouraging to me personally. They have had a transforming impact on the way I think about and do ministry. I cannot imagine a better team to train and mentor emerging leaders. - Sandy Cade, Youth Director, Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Warrenville, Illinois Intersect and World Relief share the core conviction that the Church of Jesus Christ is the only hope for transforming a nation. Our relief efforts are in great need of the kind of leadership development and theological training Intersect promises to provide church leaders around the world. I have great anticipation for Intersect's contributions toward God's global mission. - Clive Calver, Former President of World Relief Steve and Dave are creative thinkers calling for a personal and ministry story to be lived by each of us within the greater story of God. I think every person who is exposed to Intersect ministry will have a greater desire to engage missionally in "what on earth God is doing". - Bill Clem, Executive Director, Centrifuge and Pastor in Seattle, Washington INTERSECT's awareness of the global church, and the church's urgent need to train its emerging leaders, is a recognition of the fact of the "global village" we live in and the "global church" we are a part of - and it comes not a day too soon. Church leaders in India have consistently rated leadership as the church's most critical need. INTERSECT's emphasis on personal and theological formation for emerging leaders addresses this urgent need directly and courageously. - Joel David, Pastor and Regional Leader in Northern India Steve and Dave, like everyone, live in between the biblical text and the practice of the church. This is normal. However, they stretch out their arms as they simultaneously grasp both the Bible and the Church in our changing world and pull them together in a manner that challenges practitioners who have nothing to say, equips thinkers trying to give expression to their thoughts, and encourages all of us who pray, "Thy Kingdom come..." This is remarkable, and I consider Steve and Dave remarkable friends whose lives and teaching challenge, equip, and encourage me. - Sean Larsen, Yale Divinity School Grad, Duke Doctoral Student The dream of Intersect is strategic-it aims to reintroduce "foundation" to a youth ministry mission that is, even now, trying to find its footing. We're more resourced, trained-up, and supported than ever before, but the radical mission of Christ is often lost in the din. We need more "compass" experiences-training that points us back to our true calling and mission. I believe God has uniquely prepared Steve and Dave to both expose the creeping darkness in youth ministry to the light, and show adult and student leaders how to turn on their flashlights. Intersect has my full support and respect. - Rick Lawrence, Executive Editor of Group Magazine During the past six years I have come to value my relationship with Dave Livermore and have been continually impressed with his heart for the globe and his genuine desire to both strengthen ministry internationally and allow global developments to impact ministry in North America. Over the past few years I have come to love and respect Steve Argue for his theological and conceptual value in terms of thinking and living in contemporary society. Intersect promised to impact ministry in North America and around the globe in ways that will result in change within individuals, the local church and parachurch organisations. As an organisation working throughout Africa, we eagerly anticipate ways in which we can work together to both learn and contribute to the development of the movement. - Mark Tittley, Training Director of J-Life Ministries In recent months I've been swamped with teaching engagements both here at our church and around the Boston area. The teaching has ranged from quiet times to sexual purity to leadership development. - Brian Dietz, Pastor of Middle School Ministry, Grace Chapel- Lexington, MA |
